Marketing Events on Social Media

Promoting events effectively is key to growing the FOSS community and raising awareness about Free and Open Source Software. Every FOSS United event should be announced across our communication channels, including the FOSS United Forum and social media platforms.

Pre-Event Promotion

Before each event, make sure to share:

  • Talk posters (if available)
  • Event schedule
  • Agenda and speaker information

While posters are not mandatory, sharing event details, with or without visuals, is essential. Social media helps amplify our mission, spread awareness of open source, and invite broader participation from the community.

Using Design Templates

When creating visual content such as posters or banners, follow the official FOSS United branding guidelines:

Maintaining a consistent design style helps establish a recognizable identity for all FOSS United chapters and events.
